The photographs in this portfolio were taken for my Photography I class. Using a film camera, I photographed campus, the Elmira/Horseheads area, and my hometown (Waverly, NY). I also have digital photographs that I have taken from the same areas. I love looking at photographs, and I was interested in learning how to use a film camera and how to develop photos in a dark room. After looking at the photos I have taken and thinking about the way I photograph, I have learned that I capture photos that I can connect to emotionally. I notice I like to have the subjects of my photos centered. Each photograph can be interpreted with feelings and was formed due to my emotions. I want people to understand that my art is personal and includes my own feelings that I felt while taking the photograph. It is important to understand your own emotions, and how you can personally connect to art.
